چکیده

Results—The delay to assessment was a median of 10 days. The adjusted incidence of the outcome cluster recurrent stroke, myocardial infarction or vascular death after stroke was significantly higher with higher levels of IL-6 (75 to 25 percentile hazard ratio, 1.56; 95% CI, 1.37–1.77), C-reactive protein (75 to 25 percentile hazard ratio, 1.08; 95% CI, 1.04–1.11), and fibrinogen (75 to 25 percentile hazard ratio, 1.45; 95% CI, 1.24–1.72). The associations between

Association of circulating inflammatory markers with recurrent vascular events after stroke: a prospective cohort study.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE inflammatory markers may be associated with recurrent vascular events after stroke. We aimed to determine the association between IL-6, C-reactive protein, fibrinogen and white cell count, with recurrent vascular events after stroke, and to compare the association between circulating inflammatory markers with the risk of death from vascular vs nonvascular causes. METHOD...

C-reactive protein as a prognostic marker after lacunar stroke: levels of inflammatory markers in the treatment of stroke study.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Inflammatory biomarkers predict incident and recurrent cardiac events, but their relationship to stroke prognosis is uncertain. We hypothesized that high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) predicts recurrent ischemic stroke after recent lacunar stroke. METHODS Levels of Inflammatory Markers in the Treatment of Stroke (LIMITS) was an international, multicenter, prosp...

High-sensitivity C-reactive protein, lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2, and outcome after ischemic stroke.

BACKGROUND Inflammatory markers have been associated with ischemic stroke risk and prognosis after cardiac events. Their relationship to prognosis after stroke is unsettled. METHODS A population-based study of stroke risk factors in 467 patients with first ischemic stroke was undertaken to determine whether levels of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and lipoprotein-associated phos...

Prognostic Value of Circulating Inflammatory Cells in Patients with Stable and Acute Coronary Artery Disease

Atherosclerosis is a lipid driven chronic inflammatory disease underlying the majority of ischemic events such as myocardial infarction or stroke. Clinical management of ischemic events has improved considerably in the past decades. Accordingly, survival rates have increased. Nevertheless, 12% of patients die within 6 months after the initial event. To improve secondary prevention, appropriate ...

Copeptin and Long-Term Risk of Recurrent Vascular Events After Transient Ischemic Attack and Ischemic Stroke: Population-Based Study.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Copeptin, the c-terminal portion of provasopressin, is a useful prognostic marker in patients after myocardial infarction and heart failure. More recently, high levels of copeptin have also been associated with worse functional outcome and increased mortality within the first year after ischemic stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA). However, to date, there are no pu...
